Renewing driveway and Retaining walls . (October 16, 2009)
This project is to renew existing retaining wall and relaying of driveway.
  
Here you can see the existing driveway consisted of 2x2 paving slabs with the land retained by brickwork wall.

We have demolished the wall so that new reinforced concrete foundations along with new wall can be built to retain new driveway.

we have now built new wall and laid new hardcore base, over 400mm in depth, over 14 tons of recycled hardcore (MOT Type 1) laid in 100 layers with vibrating plates.
35mm sand screed now being laid to lay new block on.

The start of the drive being laid using new block sets with border.

We have also fitted new fence which was supplied by client.

Due to the differences is ground levels we have built a new 225mm thick wall on new concrete foundations.  Above ground level we have reduced the thickness of the retaining wall to 110mm which provides more space on the driveway.
