Drainage Works Completed. (September 17, 2009)
The old owners of this property fitted an new en-suite to the master bedroom approximately 10 years ago.  Unfortunately all the main drain runs are along the other side of the house and therefore a pumped Saniflow was used.

The new owners are currently upgrading the property and therefore required an extension to the drains so that the en-suite will drain into the main drains.

Excavation works have started.  To prevent damage to the grounds we have decided to dig the trenches by hand.

pl2428

The trenches have been dug and the new drainage pipes laid on pipe bedding gravel.

pl2432

Building Regulations require an inspection chamber at any bend, this which will allow easy access to rod the drains should a blockage occur.
(Inspection chamber is the black object).

This picture shows the new pipes fully covered in pipe bedding.
By totally covering the pipes with gravel, this prevents any stones, rock or sharp items breaking the pipe when the trench is backfilled.

pl2438

All the trenches have been backfilled and compacted.

This project is now fully complete.  It is now very difficult to see where the trenches were dug.
